I am now embarking on the work I was born to do!
I wonder at times why it took so long to be ready. Maybe the world wasn’t ready for this land work either. Maybe I needed to gather all the sacred medicine teachings within my being, open to my ancestor lineage gifts, release interfering fears, and be at a level of maturity to carry this work forward.
I can hardy describe the joy and liberation I feel. It feels so right and true and well earned. As my Native American friend said, “You’ve earned your feathers. All your prayers and blessings for land mean you embody the land… you became the land.”
Tonight, I talked to my childhood friend who moved back to our hometown of Rochester, NY. He tells me he is exploring the land and Indian history. He is forging a new mindset that trees are relatives not resources. He is exploring the affect a proper relationship with land has on the land. Caring properly for land would bring depleted places back to life. He delights in eating the same white corn that the indigenous people grew centuries ago. He wonders why so much land is “owned.”
I will be teaching people land connecting protocols to open doorways to healthy relationship with land with the purpose of empowering an abundant life of magic, delight, and inner-harmony. When we care for land, land cares for us. Everything in nature is a circle of reciprocity, and everything is about relationship. I am offering simple practices that come from the land itself so we can remember. These are foundational teachings. We can learn how to tend and care for land and become land lovers once again. Maybe you will marry the land.
One of my students shared the joy she felt in her awakening relationship with trees. She conversed with the trees and plants on her way to work hoping to open communication. One day, the trees talked back to her and sent her a current of their energy. She was overcome by the joy of being seen, and heard, and honored by a tree. Then, a lavender plant at the street corner called her over to tell her to use its medicine for calming. “Take some of my branches and use them.”
There is immense beauty and joy in these relationships. Land longs for our relationship. Land asks us to greet the elements, dance with the flowers, prance with the unicorns, clear its debris, honor the ancestors, give offerings generously, and create altars and magical gardens. You won’t believe what magical doorways will open for you, your community, and your land when you are willing to learn.
This winter I will be teaching workshops Awaken the Land Lover within: LAND CONNECTING PROTOCOLS and offering healing sessions on the Big Island of Hawaii (and by phone). In the Spring of 2018, I will return to the mainland to go on tour to offer this work. Please contact me if you are interested in organizing, hosting, or promoting these land-based events. Please pass on this information to others who may be interested.
Thank you and Aloha.
