Weaving a New Life with Pine Needles

fullsizerenderI feel like I am weaving a new life as I create my pine needle basket from fallen pine needles outside my home. I feel the spirit of the pine merge with me in sweet gratitude as I weave in the tree’s essential nature.

Ponderosa Pine’s guardian spirit creates sacred and gentle space—a space of non-judgment. Nothing I do is right or wrong, good or bad. There is no innocence or guilt. Everything just is. I sense the roots and origins of my own essential being in tune with Nature, now.

What a gift, this basket.

I have had a long standing love affair with Ponderosa Pine and now they surround me at my home. Tall and straight, pines feel like guardians and protectors. They survive heat, lightning strikes, and fires of life. Yet, at their center, they are sensitive beings. Gentle.

Words are not the way I communication with Pine Trees—I feel them and I believe they feel me too. They speak through the wind and in their silence but mostly through their feelings and emotional telepathy—using my heart (the language of nature) to connect.

Touchy-feely is the essence I get from Ponderosa Pine. I even use the needle clusters they shed to swoosh around my body for clearing and cleansing the aura (etheric body) to rid old energy and congestion. Pine brings out the sense of touch and how we truly feel deep down—what touches our heart. I believe touchy-feely learning and teaching is the wave of the future.

Ponderosa Pines make perfect hugging trees because you are rewarded with a nose-full of beautiful resinous vanilla scent.

There is something so innocent about the pine. Flower essence pioneer Dr Bach says that Pine is for “those that blame themselves.” Maybe that is why The Unicorn Temple at Prairie Star, an area I was guided to offer for unicorns and their babies to live, is a cove of Ponderosa Pine trees. Like the Pine, unicorns hold innocence energy. A place of acceptance without judgement of right and wrong. Observing the area, I couldn’t help notice the similarity of the branches with all their pine needles extending out like unicorn tails.

This is a poem I wrote some time ago in Twisp, Washington …

ponderosa-pine-copySunny Pines Wind
The wind speaks to me in gentle caresses
Gently, love knots break free
Exposing my nakedness, my senses, my human form

And all its pleasures
As it decides to feel free

Bathing in the beauty of my new
Tapestry vision
A purple colored explosion of manifesting joy

Be your own vision keeper
Be your own counsel

Dance your dreams into spaces all around
I hold you dearly with lessening clutching just being
flowing in how to respond

Mistaken ideas about things?
About how you think you are
About what you give yourself permission to do or be

about how you will be loved
let the beliefs be renewed

More About Pine Trees …

bristlecone-3Ancient Wisdom of 4,000 Year-Old Bristlecone Pines

Bristlecone Pine is among the oldest trees in the world living up to 4,000 years of age. I had the honor of visiting them high in the White Mountains of California (around 10,000 ft). When I saw this tree, I knew I needed to meet her.

Mother Bristlecone Tree has a womb opening. The tree appears partially naked, old and twisted, and fresh and young in her new growth and purple/blue pinecones dripping with resin. I got a strong sense that they can not live alone. They need a community forest to support their lives. There is a magical freshness and purity to the air they breathe. I believe these pines hold memories of the earth and can guide us and teach us how to live from a place of more wisdom and love.
