Sitting by my Fire Altar, I had a vision of numerous dragons of all shapes, colors, and sizes flying over the garden. They looked sad. They told me they missed their humans. They asked me to help them connect with their humans. Since then I have offered many opportunities for people to meet their personal elemental dragon (or mermaid, gnome, faery, and unicorn).
My etheric dragon first appeared when I needed the strength to end a passionate romantic relationship. My dragon came to me that morning as a massively large yet gentle being. Golden brown with red and green hues. If it weren’t for my dragon, I know I would have wimped out and stayed in a relationship that wasn’t right for me anymore.
I believe everyone has an elemental dragon that assists them on their journey through life. Dragons come in all sorts of colors and personalities. Colors represent qualities about the dragon such as what their elemental make-up and purpose. Blue dragons may represent air or water, red and orange dragons are fiery, and brown ones offer earth elemental energy. There are violet, magical rainbow, crystalline, and opalescent dragons. Some dragons are massive protectors, others are goofy, some are motherly and sweet.
Many people are afraid of dragons especially fire dragons. They are depicted as fierce and destructive beings that work for the dark side or represent our fear. We are taught to slay the dragon. Dragons are very sad about this misrepresentation of their power and illumination. They want us to learn about them with fresh eyes and no judgement. One of my students feared dragons and her own power. As she became more comfortable with her power, her dragon soared… and so did she.
My personal experience has been that dragons are source light beings that elevate our consciousness and guide us to our dreams. They illuminate the way towards ascension and the evolutionary process of humanity and earth. They are the guardians of Mother Earth and masters of creation energy from the origins of our planet. They are forces of creation, delightful to relate to, and they are a continual reminder that I am a source creator being like them.
One of my favorite days was creating a fire dragon ceremony with a group of day care kids. By the end of the ritual, every child knew their dragon’s name and even the sound they made. One boy was so overwhelmed with happiness that he kept talking about his bright red dragon for weeks afterwards.
Meet your dragon and let this light being illuminate the way for you to awaken your consciousness. After you connect with your own personal dragon, more dragons will come to you if you are willing. You can co-create with them and energize your manifestations and dreams.
How to Meet Your Dragon
Light a candle with the intention to meet your dragon.
Close your eyes and move into a meditative state through deep breathing and letting the mind rest. Breath in a sense of gratitude that you have a dragon, breathe out any skeptical beliefs you may have been taught. Breathe in and out at least three times.
Invite your dragon to show itself to you. Allow your senses to open, without judgement, and receive whatever appears. Let your dragon colors, personality, movement, and light show itself. Receive the feeling, sense, vision, knowing, imagination that comes.
Congratulations, you have met your dragon. Feel free to ask your dragon what name you can call it or if you can converse and communicate. Tell your dragon you would love to be in relationship to learn more about each other. When complete, give thanks and open your eyes.
